Willow was Teddy's litter-mate, adopted to a family in Lexington, KY, in November 2000. When Willow went to her forever home, she was very shy, and very quickly attached herself to her new Mom.
- A Happy Year
- Like Teddy, Willow spent much of her life in a crate prior to coming to us. She adapted to the life of luxury very quickly, helped along by her new family's two Greyhounds and mixed breed dog, all special-needs dogs.
- Rainbow Bridge.
- Willow went to the Rainbow Bridge on October 18, 2001. Two weeks prior, she had tried to jump up to the couch and didn't quite make it; she fell badly and injured her neck seriously. Her family took her to University of Tennessee Animal Hospital for surjery. She had one badly ruptured disc, and two others also injured. One vertebra was removed; but any more would cause too much instability in the neck. She was unable to regain use of any of her limbs. After two weeks, Willow showed no improvement. On the morning of the 18th, Willow's family took her out in the yard to lay in the sun one more time, and she held her head up proudly to look around at the place she loved. Then they lovingly took her to the vet to send her on her way to the Bridge. We all will miss her terribly.
