Rafina Peterbilt (Teddy)
July 18, 1990 - July 19, 2002

Teddy was the sweetest 12-year-old you could want to meet. He asked nothing more of his family than to have the opportunity to cuddle and give his unconditional love, and receive some love in return.

  • Runner
  • Teddy spent much of his life in a crate prior to coming to us, mostly because he had trouble getting along peacefully with other male dogs. He quickly adjusted to having free roam of the house with us, and loved it. He got the opportunity, three months before his death, to 'chase the bunny' at the Great Lakes Whippet Racing Club's practice race in April. He chased the bunny, caught it, and proudly carried it back to the start point so he could chase it again.

  • Companion
  • Teddy was my constant companion, my shadow. I could not go anywhere in the house or the yard without his quiet, undemanding presence, no matter what time of day or how bad the weather outdoors. Because of his heart murmur, he could not undergo surgery to remove the tumor which grew in his abdomen. He lost his battle with the tumor on July 19, 2002 - one day after his 12th birthday. The Hounds in the Summit City were very quiet and subdued that day... they all knew that Teddy had made the trip to the Rainbow Bridge.
