Hope

Hope is a sweet little Italian Greyhound girl who has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. She was born in a puppy mill, abused, and then left to die in a barrel. When she came into rescue, she was terrified of everyone and everything. Within her first few days with her rescue family, they were out for an evening walk with Hope and their other Italian Greyhounds, and a UPS truck drove by. The noise scared Hope so badly that she bolted out of her foster dad's arms, trailing leash, and got away. Despite all their best efforts, she couldn't be caught, and soon disappeared. Thousands of flyers and three weeks later, beyond all hope, she was found, and re-united with her foster family. Since that time, she has come a long way, learning to love and be loved.

  • About Hope
  • Hope loves other dogs, children, and slowly learned to trust adults again.

  • Hope needs to be with a family where someone is home most of the time, and with a fenced-in yard, since she still is terrified of the leash.

  • Hope is on Clamicalm and takes thyroid medicine daily. These two medications have helped her tremendously, and she can cope with being around people now. She is still very shy, and requires lots of love and attention.

  • Hope surprised us all when her new forever Mom came in to meet her for the first time. After much fretting and worrying about how the introduction would go, and how her foster Mom and Dad were going to be able to get her into the crate for her trip to her new home, her new Mom walked into the kitchen of Hope's foster home, and immediately sat down on the floor. Beyond all expectations, Hope went right to her and laid her head down in her new Mom's lap! We are so happy for this sweet little girl!
