Cookie Monster

My name is Cookie Monster and I am a gorgeous male of 23 pounds. I am fawn and white with some black eyeliner around my eyes and a tiny bit of black over them that makes me look a bit like doggy Groucho Marx!! I am tall at about 17 inches at my shoulder.

I am 4 yrs old now. I was a return to rescue because my human mom got sick and can't keep me.

I love to be held, I love to snuggle, I would sleep in bed with my new family or I would sleep in a crate. I do very well in the crate, and my foster mom has me eat my meals and sleep in one at nite. I walk extremely well on a leash and I love rides in a car. I can brag because my potty habits are excellent!! At my old home my mom left me out the door into a fenced yard and I was a good boy. Here at the foster mom's, she has a doggy door and I use it whenever I need to go. Even though I am 4yrs old, I still squat to pee.

I get along very well with other small dogs. In my old home I lived with a Greyhound, also. I love kids as long as they don't pick on me. Sometimes I get a little nervous in new situations or if I don't understand what my humans want, but if you take time to let me know, I am willing to do what you wish.

In the past I had one seizure but never had one again and my vet tells me I have a grade 1 heart murmur which is quite common in alot of us he said. He told me that since I am energetic and have no symptoms of any kind that it was not necessary to give me any meds. So I got an ok to start looking for my new family.

What I am looking for in my new family is someone who has time to spend with me, play with me, love on me. I really need a small playful companion dog so I am not lonely when you have to go do human things. Since I like to run and run and the vet says I need to stay skinny, I really need a fenced yard. And if you travel, I really would love to go with you!! So if you think you might be what I am looking for, I am located in Northern Indiana and I would be willing to go live in any of the states bordering Indiana or in the state of Indiana.
